Case study:

Primus inter pares looking for special application

Einzelbild2.jpg

The requirement

Germany is one of the leading wind power nations. WKA Blade Service GmbH is one of the leading service providers for the maintenance and repair of rotor blades from different manufacturers.

For the documentation of the repair process, the WKA therefore needed a special tool that supports both the technicians in the field and the back office in order preparation and post-processing of the documentation.

The solution

On the basis of CrossLoom and Work & Report, it has been possible to set up a software application that adapts perfectly to the special features of the rotor blade repair process. It was necessary for the team around Dennis Ziegan to coordinate closely with the WKA team. It also helped a lot that both the UMa Soft and the 3Txpert already had very in-depth knowledge of the wind power industry.

Thanks to BAS, our customers can retrieve all reports from anywhere, anytime. In addition, the ability to retrieve the entire blade history provides comparability of values over the years.

3Txpert GmbH

Within the framework of an agile project procedure, WKA as a customer was able to constantly monitor the progress of the requirements implementation and adapt them as required. This allowed us to bring together the functionality of the application to an exceptionally high level. But for me as a project manager, good cooperation was the key to success.

We wanted an application that would meet our high process requirements but at the same time be standardized to provide a secure and extensible foundation. For our business, it had to become a core application that is state-of-the-art in every way. With BAS, our requirements are ideally met.
